Newcastle boss Alan Pardew is delighted with his players' fighting spirit after they came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw with Tottenham Hotspur.

Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew was delighted with the way his team came from behind twice to earn a 2-2 draw against Tottenham Hotspur.

Goals from Demba Ba and Shola Ameobi earned a share of the spoils at St James's Park and Pardew was happy with the fighting attitude his side showed.

"It just shows the spirit of the group and the players that we have," he told Sky Sports News. "We've got characters on the bench who can change the game, and the same with Tottenham.

"We're feeling confident and we played really well today against one of the top teams."

The manager also revealed that he was disappointed not to end the game with the three points.

"You know you're walking off at the end slightly disappointed that we haven't won it," he added. "We've got a couple of great chances towards the end but we'll settle for the draw.

"We're still unbeaten, we're having a great period and we'll take it to the next game."

The Magpies host Wigan Athletic in the Premier League next Saturday.
