Mauricio Pochettino: "It was a great performance"

Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino hails his side's "great performance" during the 5-3 victory over Chelsea at White Hart Lane.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino has paid tribute to his side following their 5-3 victory over Chelsea at White Hart Lane this evening.

Spurs came from behind to inflict just a second defeat of the season on the league leaders, moving up to fifth place in the process.

Pochettino was left delighted by the performance and believes that it was an important marker to set on the first day of 2015.

"It was a great performance by the team. I think they are all very happy with the first day of the new year, to start this way was very important," he told BBC Sport.

"The most important thing today was our performance, to believe in our way. The team showed a big mentality. Chelsea are the best team so far, it was a difficult game. It was an important three points for the players and supporters for the belief, to show all is possible."

Chelsea have now won just one of their last nine visits to White Hart Lane.
