Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp remains the front-runner to land the permanent England managerial job following Fabio Capello's departure last month.
With interim coach Stuart Pearce recording a 3-2 defeat to the Netherlands at Wembley, Redknapp could be appointed for the forthcoming European Championships.
While the Redknapp has been coy over his desire to snatch the job, Sports Mole takes a look at previous quotes from the 64-year-old on members of the England squad, who could be playing under the Spurs boss this summer.
Frank Lampard
"Frank Lampard is still a top player. You write Frank off at your peril. He's still a top player in my opinion. Look at his record, he scores nearly 20 goals a year every year. That's incredible for a midfielder."
Steven Gerrard
"Steven Gerrard is still a top class player. We have got some good players in our midfield. Gerrard is a good candidate [for England captain] as well. [He's a] fantastic player."
Scott Parker
"[Parker's] just a fantastic boy, He's a family man, he loves his football, he trains well, he plays well. He gets on with the job. Scott's not a minute's problem. He's not Billy Big Time, he's just a great boy, and I think that's what you need at your football club if you are going to do anything. You need them."
Phil Jones
"I think he's a lad who's got the potential to go on one day to certainly be an England centre-half and maybe captain, I think he's that good. He's got everything, he's quick and strong. He looks a great lad."
Gary Cahill
"He's young, a good sort, good character. It's not all about having players with massive egos. If they want to do it, they want to do it. Gary Cahill is that type of good lad. I've always liked him. He's a good player."
Kyle Walker
"[Walker's] a great athlete, lightning quick and strong. His pace is frightening and he does a great job for [Tottenham]. He's a great lad who wants to learn and certainly has all the attributes to become a great right-back."
Paul Scholes
"Look at Paul Scholes. Lets be honest, you would love to have Paul Scholes in the Euros this year. He'd be in your team, he's that good. Whoever's there would love to take him I'm sure. You'd love him to play. He plays like the Spaniards, like Xavi, or Iniesta. He does not give the ball away."
