Peter Schmeichel: Harry Redknapp should remain at Spurs

Peter Schmeichel reveals that Harry Redknapp should consider rejecting any approaches from the FA for the vacant England manager's position.

Peter Schmeichel has claimed that Harry Redknapp should think twice before accepting any possible approaches by the FA for the new England job.

The Tottenham Hotspur manager is currently favourite to replace Fabio Capello but former Manchester United goalkeeper Schmeichel has revealed that the job may not be the right move for the 64-year-old.

Schmeichel said: "If I was him, having done all that at Tottenham, I would ask myself - 'why would I leave this? This hasn't even peaked yet.'

"Harry is a great manager, he's proved that on many occasions, small clubs with no money, he's got them to perform at the highest level.

"Not only are you dealing with the players, whose mentality has changed enormously over the last five years, but also dealing with the press."

Spurs are currently third in the Premier League.
