Rafael van der Vaart believes that Tottenham Hotspur are genuine title contenders.

Rafael van der Vaart has tipped Tottenham Hotspur to challenge for the Premier League title.

The North London club have moved to within three points of league leaders Manchester City after Wednesday's 2-0 win at home to Everton.

"Everybody knows Spurs have a great team and if we can keep playing like this, then we're also favourites to win the title," said the forward.

"We know we're good and apart from the first two games, we have won almost every week.

"City have so many good players that even when they're not playing well, they can decide a game, whereas we're more of a team. It's going to be very interesting."

Spurs host Wolverhampton Wanderers in the league on Saturday.
