Jan Vertonghen: 'Tottenham Hotspur must continue good form'

Jan Vertonghen urges Tottenham Hotspur to carry their momentum into the Boxing Day clash with Leicester City.

Jan Vertonghen has revealed his desperation to help Tottenham Hotspur continue their recent impressive run heading into a busy festive schedule.

A 2-1 victory over Burnley made it three successive wins in all competitions for Spurs, and Vertonghen believes that momentum is vital as the team prepare for the trip to Leicester City on Boxing Day.

"We feel very confident so if everyone continues like this then we can win at Leicester," the Belgian told the club's official website. "Burnley played well on Saturday but we defended well and didn't give them too many chances.

"They scored an amazing goal in the first half but for the rest of the game we didn't give them too much in terms of clear opportunities.

"We need to continue winning at Leicester. We have to keep the run going."

Spurs take on Manchester United two days after the game against Leicester, before hosting Chelsea on New Year's Day.
