Deadline day key events
Latest January transfer news and rumours including Silva to West Ham
West Ham United are reportedly considering making a move for RB Leipzig forward Andre Silva before the January transfer window closes for business to address their issues in the final third of the field.
The Hammers are currently without the services of Michail Antonio, Jarrod Bowen and Niclas Fullkrug due to injury problems, and the London club are hoping to bring in a new attacker over the next couple of weeks.
According to journalist Ekrem Konur, Silva is an option, with the 29-year-old free to leave his German club this month.
Silva has only managed one goal and three assists in 15 appearances for Leipzig during the 2024-25 campaign, incoming one goal and two assists in eight outings in the top flight of German football.
Prem clubs 'placed on alert' as Real Madrid 'make major transfer decision'
Real Madrid are reportedly giving serious consideration to allowing Aurelien Tchouameni to leave the club this summer.
The France international made the move to Los Blancos from Monaco in July 2022, and he has represented his current side on 112 occasions in all competitions, scoring three goals and registering five assists in the process.
The 24-year-old has been a vital player this term, making 23 appearances for Carlo Ancelotti's side, but he has again been asked to play as a centre-back on a number of occasions due to Eder Militao's long-term knee problem.
David Alaba is now on the verge of returning to action, but the Austria international has not played since December 2023 due to a serious knee injury of his own, and it remains to be seen how long it takes him to return to full fitness.
Napoli 'working on blockbuster January deal' for Man United forward who 'could cost £59m'
Napoli have reportedly stepped up their attempts to land Alejandro Garnacho from Manchester United, although the two clubs are said to be some way apart when it comes to their valuation of the Argentina international.
Garnacho, 20, is Man United's leading goalscorer this season, finding the back of the net on eight occasions in 30 appearances in all competitions, in addition to providing five assists.
However, he has found it difficult to secure regular starts since Ruben Amorim's arrival as head coach, with the youngster being asked to operate as an inside forward in a 3-4-3 formation.
The majority of Garnacho's best work comes as a wide forward, and there are doubts whether he will ever become a key player in Amorim's formation, while Man United are willing to listen to all offers for their homegrown talents, including Kobbie Mainoo, due to the circumstances surrounding PSR.
