Brighton & Hove Albion are reportedly planning to step up their pursuit of Tottenham Hotspur striker Jonathan Obika, who they want to sign on a short-term loan deal this week.
Obika is currently recovering from a niggling ankle injury but is thought to be available for loan when back to full fitness, which would ease Brighton's current shortage in attack.
Seagulls boss Oscar Garcia has lost leading striker Leonardo Ulloa for three matches through suspension, following his straight red card in last weekend's goalless draw against Reading.
Garcia is desperate to strengthen his depleted forward line quickly and will launch an enquiry for Obika this week, according to The Argus.
The 22-year-old is no stranger to leaving White Hart Lane on loan, with his latest switch coming in a 10-game spell at Charlton Athletic towards the end of last season.
