Spurs striker Giovani dos Santos expresses his desire to leave the club and return to Spain.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Giovani dos Santos has expressed his desire to leave White Hart Lane and return to Spain.

Dos Santos joined Spurs from Barcelona four years ago and was hailed by some as a player with huge potential.

However, the 23-year-old has made just two Premier League starts in that time, and has spent most of his time out on loan with the likes of Galatasaray, Racing Santander and Ipswich Town, leaving the Mexican disillusioned.

"I want to return to Spain," he told ESPN Radio. "There is a new coach at Tottenham, a new season is starting and it is clear to me that I want to return to Spanish football.

"I think that I will be able to announce the move soon. Tottenham have always tried to sell me for double the price that they paid for me.

"There are offers, but nothing can be made public yet."

Dos Santos, who has been linked with Sevilla, Real Betis and Atletico Madrid, will have to wait a little longer before his final exit from London, however, as he is due to represent Mexico at the upcoming Olympics.
