Tottenham Hotpur forward Fernando Llorente admits that he remains keen to see out the remainder of his playing days at Athletic Bilbao.

Tottenham Hotspur forward Fernando Llorente has reiterated that it would be "nice" if he were able to retire at Athletic Bilbao.

Llorente has been frequently linked with a return to the Spanish side having spent the first eight years of his playing career at the club.

The 34-year-old is out of contract in the summer, and the frontman has acknowledged that he would be happy to have a second spell at his former side.

Llorente told Radio Marca: "There was a lot of talk about my possible departure to Athletic but seeing the injuries that Tottenham had, I knew it would be complicated.

"It would be nice to retire at Athletic."

The player netted a total of 53 goals from 142 appearances for Bilbao in all competitions between 2005 and 2013.
