Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly been handed a boost in their pursuit of Fiorentina forward Dusan Vlahovic this summer.
Nuno Espirito Santo is keen to recruit a new striker, regardless as to whether Manchester City target Harry Kane leave the club or not, and the Portuguese boss has identified the 21-year-old as a potential signing.
According to Calciomercato, Fiorentina have held talks with Atletico Madrid this summer, however both club are still far apart in negotiations, with the La Liga champions offering around £60m plus bonuses.
Atletico do not want their discussions to drag on into the latter stages of the transfer window and will approach other targets, including Hertha Berlin's Matheus Cunha, if a deal cannot be agreed quickly.
This could therefore benefit Spurs in their quest to recruit the Serbian international, who would be willing to move to the Premier League this summer.
Vlahovic, who has two years left on his contract, enjoyed an impressive 2020-21 campaign for La Viola, scoring 21 times in 37 Serie A appearances.
