Tottenham Hotspur have reportedly offered Jermain Defoe to Aston Villa as part of a deal to bring Christian Benteke to White Hart Lane.
According to The Mirror, the North London side are willing to hand over Defoe plus cash for the 22-year-old Belgian, who scored 19 league goals in his debut Premier League season.
Atletico Madrid are also said to be interested in Benteke, eyeing him as a replacement for Radamel Falcao, who has joined Monaco.
Villa are believed to be in the mood to reject any advances, remaining keen that Benteke will sign a new deal in Birmingham.
