Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam feels that his side lacked "quality" in their 1-0 defeat to West Ham United at the Britannia Stadium.
Jack Collison scored the only goal of the game on the stroke of half time as the Potters fell to just their second home defeat of the season.
"We should be winning at home, certainly in these games against teams who are in a similar position to ourselves," Adam told the club's official website.
"We huffed and we puffed for 90 minutes, but sadly the quality or that cutting edge just wasn't there, and I suppose in the end it just wasn't our day."
Stoke are now 11th in the Premier League.
