Sunderland have confirmed that former Everton forward James McFadden has put pen to paper on a short-term deal at the club.
The 29-year-old has been expected to join the North East outfit after training with the Black Cats for a while following his release from the Toffees in the summer.
Sunderland boss Martin O'Neill confirmed yesterday that negotiations were ongoing and it has been announced today that McFadden has secured a contract that reports have claimed is for three months.
McFadden will wear the number 11 shirt.
