Ki Sung-yueng has urged teammate Wilfried Bony to stay at Swansea City for the time being.
The 26-year-old has reportedly courted interest from Manchester City and Real Madrid in recent days, having out-scored every Premier League player in 2014 with 18 goals.
Bony played down speculation of a January exit earlier on Friday, and Ki says it is vital that the Swans retain their "massive weapon" beyond the winter transfer window.
"He's a massive weapon for our team," he told reporters. "Besides scoring goals, he can hold the ball, he can pass the ball and he can lift the team.
"So hopefully he will want to stay until the end of the season. Clubs are interested in him because he's a good player, he's a top player in the league.
"I hope he stays to help us go forward more in the table."
The Ivory Coast hitman will now gear up for his country's Africa Cup of Nations campaign, after netting a last-gasp equaliser in Thursday's 1-1 draw at Queens Park Rangers.
