Swansea City manager Brendan Rodgers was pleased with his side's physical showing after their 2-0 victory against Stoke City at the Liberty Stadium.

Goals from Scott Sinclair and Danny Graham were enough to give the Swans their second win of the season.

"Today we had to show resilience and the ability to defend as a team and I thought the performance was fantastic," Rodgers told Sky Sports News.

"When you play Stoke there are always questions to be asked and you have to match the physical contest.

"I think Tony (Pulis) has done a brilliant job with Stoke, they are a proper side. They get a bit of stick for their style but they play with passion, they pass the ball and are not totally direct. But when the ball comes into the box you have to defend."

The win has moved the Welsh side up into tenth place in the Premier League table.
