Swansea City midfielder Gylfi Sigurdsson has said that everyone at the club hopes that key striker Wilfried Bony remains with the team.
Bony has been in impressive form this season having taken time to settle in after a move from Vitesse Arnhem in 2013, with Iceland international Sigurdsson speaking out about the frontman's importance amid reported interest from a number of European clubs.
"Wilf is a vital player for us," said Sigurdsson, according to The Mirror. "He scores a lot of goals and is a big threat. If he gets a chance, then nine times out of 10 he will finish it.
"Physically, he is very strong but he has got good movement and times his runs really well.
"Everyone at Swansea hopes he will stay. I am sure the club would be delighted if they could keep him for another season."
The Swans currently occupy ninth position in the Premier League table.
