Premier League club Swansea City have reportedly entered negotiations to buy their ground, the Liberty Stadium, from Swansea Council.
According to the South Wales Evening Post, Swansea are close to striking a deal in the £20m-25m region with the council.
Swans chairman Huw Jenkins, writing in the club's latest matchday programme, said that talks with the council were "top of the list".
Swansea Council leader Rob Stewart said: "The Swans have done a fantastic job in putting Swansea on the global stage by cementing their place in the Premier League.
"Their contribution to the city's economy and raising Swansea's profile as a place to visit, study and invest can't be overstated."
The council is wary, however, of the needs of rugby union side Ospreys, who have shared the stadium with Swansea since it opened in 2005.
