Wilfried Bony tried to create an opening for the home side early on as he sent a ball forward for Wayne Routledge, but Robert Green was ready to make the save.

QPR continued to come under pressure as Kyle Bartley tried to head in from a Gylfi Sigurdsson corner, while Green was wrong-footed as he attempted to save a free kick shortly after.

Sigurdsson had another chance from a set piece shortly before half time, but Green got a hand to it to punch it clear before Richard Dunne made the clearance.

QPR had a good chance late on as Leroy Fer tried to lash the ball in from a Nico Kranjcar cross, but Lukasz Fabianski was ready for his finish.

Swansea continued to look the more likely at the start of the second half as Sigurdsson found Bony with a through-ball, but Dunne managed to turn the Ivorian's shot behind.

Green made several more crucial saves to keep the visitors in the match, but his resistance was finally broken with 12 minutes to play as Ki Sung-yueng squeezed the ball in from a tight angle after Bony had pulled it back for him.

The home side needed just five minutes to double their advantage as Wayne Routledge curled an effort in from 20 yards out after a quick break from substitute Nathan Dyer.

Jonjo Shelvey tried to add to the scoreline late on when he rounded Green after Bony had picked him our with a reverse pass, but he wasted the chance with a rushed finish.

Bony could have made it three himself in stoppage time when he whipped in a ball from the edge of the box, beating Green, but his effort was kept out by the post.

The result moves Swansea up to sixth in the Premier League table, while QPR remain in the relegation zone.
