Valencia see off Real Sociedad

Valencia continue their strong run of form in La Liga with a 2-0 win at home to Real Sociedad.

Valencia have made it four consecutive victories in La Liga with a 2-0 win at home to Real Sociedad.

Following a first half of few clear-cut chances, the hosts took the lead on 53 minutes when Pablo Piatti converted Daniel Parejo's cross from close range.

The home side then doubled their advantage just three minutes later as Piatti was on hand to find the net again, after Sofiane Feghouli's squared pass from the right.

Alvaro Negredo almost made it 3-0 with 20 minutes left when he shot inches wide of the post, while Rodrigo also came close for Valencia on 77 minutes as he blasted the ball off target.

Sociedad offered little going forward during the final stages as they tried to get themselves back in the game, with Valencia seeing out the contest with comfort to keep up their title push.
