Watford are reportedly holding talks with Blackburn Rovers to negotiate a fee for Rudy Gestede.
The 26-year-old, who scored 20 goals in 39 Championship appearances last season, has been linked with a move away from Ewood Park.
The Hornets are said to have offered £4m for the Benin international earlier this month, although that bid was rejected by Blackburn.
Gestede is said to be keen on a move to Vicarage Road to join up with the Premier League newcomers ahead of the new campaign.
According to The Guardian, Gestede's representatives will meet with Blackburn, who want £7m for the frontman, in an attempt to resolve the situation.
Gestede joined Blackburn from Cardiff City on loan in November 2013 before making the transfer permanent two months later.
