West Ham United manager Slaven Bilic has reportedly been given the green light to make a formal approach for Wolfsburg midfielder Murat Saglam.
The Hammers are in need of fresh additions in the New Year following a poor opening four months to the campaign, which has seen them win just three of their 14 league games so far.
Bilic is said to have been tracking Saglam for some time, and The Sun claims that United are close to agreeing a five-year deal with the youngster, whose contract was due to expire at the end of the current season.
However, the same report suggests that the Turkey Under-19s international is unlikely to join until next summer, when he will be slowly integrated into the first-team fold.
Saglam, who has yet to feature for Wolfsburg's senior side, is also thought to have been on Tottenham Hotspur's radar due to his versatility down the left flank.
