West Ham United officials will reportedly fly out to Turkey to discuss terms with Besiktas over a January transfer for midfielder Gary Medel.
The Chile international, who can also fill in at centre-back, has previous experience in the Premier League after spending a season with Cardiff City in 2013-14.
Medel has since represented Inter Milan for three years and is now into his second season with Besiktas in the Super Lig.
Sky Sports News suggests that West Ham are keen to bring the 31-year-old back to English football, though no formal offer has yet been made.
Meanwhile, Turkish outlet Milliyet indicates that Besiktas are happy to cash in on Medel and a deal should be in place ready for the January transfer window.
Manuel Pellegrini is on the lookout for a new defensive midfielder, having seen his side concede 25 goals in their opening 17 Premier League matches.
