Wigan Athletic boss Owen Coyle has hinted that he could pair Marc-Antoine Fortune and Grant Holt in attack in the next few weeks.
The Latics have thus far deployed Holt as their lone striker this season, but Coyle has suggested that the former West Bromwich Albion forward will be given a chance to impress.
"Fortune is a top player and Marc has probably been a little bit unlucky because he had a very good pre-season and obviously the way we set up with the three in the middle with the one main striker then Holty just got the nod," Coyle told reporters at a press conference.
"But we know Marc-Antoine Fortune can play; he's a top player and he's certainly banging on the door for that starting spot."
Wigan drew 2-2 with Doncaster Rovers in the Championship on Tuesday.
