Wolverhampton Wanderers announce that midfielder Ruben Neves will be sidelined until at least May with a knee injury.

Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves will spend at least a month on the sidelines with the knee injury that he sustained against Leeds United last week.

Neves needed to be withdrawn during the first half of the Premier League clash at Molineux, the Portugal international making an effort to run off the issue before being replaced in the 25th minute.

While the 25-year-old was initially due to be involved with his national team for the World Cup playoffs, it soon became apparent that he would not be able to play a part in that camp.

Having still travelled to his homeland with members of Wolves' medical staff to see a specialist, it has been revealed that Neves suffered a medial collateral ligament injury.

On the club's official website, Wolves have said that the injury is 'uncomplicated', suggesting that Neves could return to the squad at some point in May.

Wolves are currently due to end the campaign with a triple-header of Chelsea, Norwich City and Liverpool, with a fixture against Manchester City potentially being rearranged for the run-in.
