Former Aston Villa duo in frame for Wolverhampton Wanderers job?

Former Aston Villa bosses Paul Lambert and Tim Sherwood are reportedly in contention for the vacant managerial position at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Paul Lambert and Tim Sherwood have reportedly been identified as potential replacements for Walter Zenga at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Last week, Zenga was sacked after Wolves slumped to 18th position in the Championship table and a wide range of managers have since been linked with the role at Molineux.

However, according to the Express & Star, the club's owners Fosun International are keen to appoint a British manager with experience of the second tier of English football, and it has been claimed that former Villa bosses Lambert and Sherwood are currently on the shortlist.

Ex-Leicester City and Derby County chief Nigel Pearson remains the favourite for the position but both Lambert and Sherwood are said to be under consideration.

Caretaker manager Rob Edwards - who guided the club to a 1-1 draw at Blackburn Rovers at the weekend - is also said to be under consideration but his chances could depend on the result against Derby on Saturday.
