Kenny Jackett: 'We are in a vital period'

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett admits that his side must gain victories during a "vital period" in the Championship playoff race.

Wolverhampton Wanderers head coach Kenny Jackett has called on his side to take the initiative when they travel to Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday afternoon.

The West Midlands outfit are four points adrift of a playoff place with 10 games remaining, and Jackett wants his players to adopt an "aggressive" approach in an attempt to gain the wins that they require to give themselves a chance of promotion.

The 53-year-old is quoted by the Express & Star as saying: "We want to do well and play aggressively. We need to play well, we don't need to be waiting for our opposition to see where they are.

"We have to be right at the game from the whistle and make sure we are as aggressive as possible with our football to be able to go for this win. It's a big game for us, and it's an absolutely vital period."

Wolves have seen their playoff bid weakened after recording just one point in their last two league fixtures.
