A late Mark Davies goal rescues a point for Bolton against Wolves.

A late Mark Davies strike rescued a point for Bolton Wanderers against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the battle between two relegated clubs this evening.

The visitors took the lead in the 21st minute when Wolves failed to deal with Martin Petrov's corner, allowing Benik Ofobe to take a touch before stabbing the ball home.

The hosts looked to respond immediately and almost did so when Roger Johnson met Jermaine Pennant's corner, but his downward header bounced up onto the crossbar.

They didn't have to wait much longer for the equaliser, however, as Kevin Doyle slid the ball past Adam Bogdan in the 27th minute.

Doyle doubled his personal tally just three minutes later, giving Wolves the lead by nodding a loose ball home following Bakary Sako's strike.

Carl Ikeme prevented Bolton drawing level with a triple save in the second half, twice denying Chris Eagles before smuggling David N'Gog's effort.

Just as it looked like Wolves were going to claim all three points, however, Davies plucked the ball out of the air before smashing a strike into the top corner to ensure that the spoils were shared.
