Sergio Perez 'hopeful of Force India stay for 2015'

Force India driver Sergio Perez is hoping to confirm his place with the team for 2015 within the next seven days.

Sergio Perez is confident that he can retain his place at Force India for 2015 and is looking to confirm his drive in the coming week.

The Mexican joined his current employers after he was let go by McLaren following a disappointing solitary season with the Woking-based outfit in 2014.

However, the 24-year-old is bullish about his hopes of retaining a drive with Force India beyond the end of this season.

Perez is quoted by Sky Sports News as saying: "I want to close out my situation. We're now coming towards the end of the year, and I think in the next week or so it will be done with my future. Getting the deal done is now my main priority.

"The only opportunity I had to establish myself in a team was with Sauber in 2012, and I want to do the same here."

Force India trail fifth-placed McLaren by just 20 points in the constructors' championship.
