Paul Di Resta has revealed that the Italian Grand Prix this weekend will be of particular significance due to his Italian heritage.
The Scottish-born Force India driver has Italian roots and has admitted that the race at the Monza will be a “special” occasion.
"You obviously treat every race with the same importance, but some races definitely feel a bit more special if you have an emotional connection," Di Resta said.
"That's the case with Italy because I've got family living there and some Italian blood in me."
The 25-year-old has never raced in the city of Monza but is aware of Force India’s positive record on the track.
"In all my years of racing it's just one of those tracks where I've never raced," he added. "I'm fairly optimistic Monza will suit us.
"It's going to be another close midfield fight but I believe we can come away with some points."
The Grand Prix will go ahead on Sunday, September 11.
