Lewis Hamilton "looking forward" to Japanese Grand Prix

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton admits that he is expecting this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix to prove "difficult" due to the adverse weather conditions.

Lewis Hamilton has insisted that he is "looking forward" to this weekend's Japanese Grand Prix, despite concerns that weather conditions could wreak havoc on the drivers.

A typhoon descended over the Suzuka course earlier today, making things even tougher when the first practice session gets underway tomorrow morning.

"This is one of the toughest circuits in general, but when it rains or there's a typhoon, it's going to be difficult," Hamilton told reporters. "Positioning is going to be important, understanding the lines and paying attention to detail.

"In the wet, you're always on the edge of your seat but I'm looking forward to it; I like racing in the wet."

The Mercedes driver leads the way in the current standings.
