Romain Grosjean believes that Lotus Renault will be even better next season, after showing promise in 2012.
Lotus improved to fourth in the constructor's championship and even managed a race victory this year.
Grosjean, who has secured his place at the team in 2013, believes that next year they can improve further.
"We will try to improve on fourth, that's for sure," he told Autosport. "If we do everything right, there's no reason we can't do better that that.
"The car was good this year, the regulations are not changing a lot. The team is working hard and I'm really looking forward to seeing the car and seeing what it can deliver.
"The objective will be to do better and better year after year, starting in 2013."
Grosjean recently admitted that he was afraid that he could lose his place at Lotus, following a mixed mid-season spell where he failed to finish eight races.
