Lewis Hamilton out of Hungarian Grand Prix qualifying

Lewis Hamilton is forced to retire from qualifying at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

Lewis Hamilton has been forced to retire from qualifying at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

The rear of Hamilton's Mercedes caught fire early on in Q1 on Saturday, making it two consecutive races in which he has encountered problems during qualifying.

It is understood that a fuel leak was the reason behind the fire.

The 29-year-old had been fastest in all three practice sessions at the Hungaroring.

Hamilton was involved in a crash in qualifying at the German Grand Prix last weekend, though he was able to secure a third-placed finish after starting in 16th position on the grid.
