Red Bull has implemented minor adjustments since experiencing less-than-expected performance at Monaco, yet Dr. Helmut Marko acknowledges that a comprehensive solution is still some way off.

Since the beginning of the 'ground effect' era in 2022, the team has faced few challenges, but now finds itself contending with Ferrari and McLaren.

The problem with Red Bull's 2024 car was starkly evident two weeks ago in Monaco, where drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez had difficulties navigating the uneven terrain and kerbs.

Montreal, sharing similar track traits, poses another challenge, while Red Bull F1 consultant Marko notes that Ferrari is "universally fast on all tracks."

Triple world champion Verstappen shared on Thursday: "We have to solve the problems."

"After Monaco I believe we had a very constructive week in which we looked at the reasons why things are not going so well for us at the moment," he continued.

"We have to go step by step to solve it. It's not something you can solve in one or two weeks," he added.

For Montreal, Red Bull has adjusted the car's base setup, though no significant new components have been added for this race.

"We have a problem," Marko stated in an interview with Kleine Zeitung. "We have now finally noticed it. We will see when we find a solution.

"But new parts will not be installed on the car until Barcelona."

However, Verstappen believes the 2024 car remains "fast," stating: "If we can improve the situation slightly, we will immediately create a lot more laptime. But to really solve it, you have to redesign things and introduce different ideas into the design of the car," he noted. "That's even harder with the budget cap."

Lando Norris, a McLaren driver, concurs with Marko's view that Ferrari is "the favourite" for this weekend.

"They are strong on the straights and they also did very well in Monaco," he observed. "If you look at the total package, I think they have the best credentials for this circuit."
