Sebastian Vettel insists that there is still work to be done before he can secure the Formula One world title.

Red Bull's Sebastian Vettel has refused to get complacent over his chances of retaining the world title, despite needing just one more point to secure it.

The 24-year-old's victory in Singapore yesterday means that only McLaren's Jenson Button has a mathematical chance of stopping him.

Despite his favourable position, the German remains defiant that there is still work to do before he can celebrate.

"I feel capable but I still have to do it," he said in a post-race press conference. "Obviously it should not be a problem but it's over when it's over and not before.

"Statistics are on our side, but this story has to wait to be closed."

Vettel has finished first or second in all but one of this season's races.
