Pastor Maldonado produced a magnificent display for Williams to win his first-ever Formula 1 race in ahead of Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen in Spain this afternoon.
Lewis Hamilton produced a good display following his demotion to the back of the grid to claim eighth position just behind Nico Rosberg.
Fernando Alonso took the lead from Maldonado on the opening lap as Kimi Raikkonen also managed to make headway in the first exchanges.
Williams pitted well throughout, which gave Maldonado the edge on Alonso in the middle of the race as he closed in on the Spaniard.
The first mistake from Williams allowed Alonso to take the lead just after the halfway stage but Maldonado managed to regain the lead in the 45th lap.
Alonso appeared to be destined for third place but managed to ease past Raikkonen as he set his sights on Maldonado.
Despite the pressure seeming to be on the Venezuelan in the final laps, Maldonado managed to extend his lead in the closing laps and finished well to secure Williams's first race victory since 2004.
