Europe's Sergio Garcia has insisted that he and his Ryder Cup teammates feel 'extra motivated' at Gleneagles due to the USA's dominance in the tournament.
Team USA have the overall lead, but Europe have been in better recent form having won five of the last six tournaments.
"We know how important the Ryder Cup is to all of us," Garcia told reporters. "When the US has dominated the Ryder Cup for so many years, as a European you come out and you want to try to level that up. It just gives you extra motivation."
The competition will get underway on Friday in Scotland.
