Tiger Woods has admitted that the pace of the greens caused him problems in a frustrating start to The Masters.
Playing in his first event for two months, Woods produced an inconsistent display which forced him to settle for an opening round of 73, and he conceded that his putting let him down on Thursday at Augusta.
"It was a good day," Woods told reporters. "I just made a couple of dumb mistakes out there.
"We all struggled with the slow greens in our group, none of us were sure how hard to hit it."
Woods finished the day nine strokes behind Jordan Spieth, who leads the first Major of the year by three shots.
