Ian Poulter: 'Third round cost me'

Ian Poulter admits that a disappointing third round cost him the Turkish Airlines Open title after losing by one shot to Brooks Koepka in Antalya.

Ian Poulter has admitted that a poor third round cost him the Turkish Airlines Open title following his one-shot defeat to Brooks Koepka.

Poulter let slip a six-shot lead on Saturday as a three-over-par round of 75 saw him fall down the leaderboard.

The Brit had the chance to force a playoff during the final round on Sunday, but a missed birdie putt on the 18th allowed Koepka to clinch the trophy.

"That, for me, is really disappointing. To have played three great rounds of golf, and just one blip on Saturday, which is a real shame," Poulter told Sky Sports News.

"So you know, it's frustrating, is what it is. There's no other word for it. Yes, I'm going to be angry. I'll be angry for a good few days, but that's fine. I'll keep myself in my own little room and have a little chat with myself and come out and win next week."

Koepka's narrow victory in Antalya was the America's first on the European Tour.
