World number five Rory McIlroy has won the Deutsche Bank Championship for the second time in his career with a final-round six-under-par 65 in Boston.
The Northern Irishman, who had not won on the PGA Tour for 16 months, started the day six shots off leader Paul Casey, but he ended up finishing two strokes ahead of the Englishman to take the title on 15-under.
McIlroy - a four-time Major winner - scored five birdies, three of which were hit consecutively, on the front nine before adding another on the 12th.
The 27-year-old suffered a bogey on the 17th, but he made up for it as he birdied the final hole, leaving him two shots clear in the field.
Casey was unable to catch up as he carded a two-over-par 73 on what is the second tournament of the FedEx Cup playoffs.
McIlroy's form will please Team Europe captain Darren Clarke ahead of the Ryder Cup, which begins on September 27 in Hazeltine.
