Rory McIlroy: 'It is going to be a very exciting week in Turkey'

Rory McIlroy is looking forward to returning to action and is relishing the chance to feature in the inaugural World Golf Final in Turkey this week.

World number one Rory McIlroy is looking forward to playing in the inaugural World Golf Final in Turkey this week.

It will be the 23-year-old's first tournament since last month's Ryder Cup, which he helped Europe win by defeating the USA.

"I am still trying to come down from the high of the Ryder Cup but it's just nice to be here," McIlroy is quoted as saying by Reuters on Monday.

"I haven't touched a club since the Ryder Cup and I've just been chilling out with [tennis player and girlfriend] Caroline [Wozniacki] so I will get to the golf course early tomorrow morning and see if it's still there.

"It's going to be a very exciting week with eight of the best players in the world and the people of Turkey are going to see an event they've never seen before."

McIlroy has been placed in Group One and will play against Matt Kuchar on Tuesday and Charl Schwartzel and Tiger Woods on Wednesday.
