Team England have emerged victorious in the first gymnastics medal event at the Commonwealth Games, taking gold in the men's team.
Double Olympic champion Max Whitlock made certain of the victory thanks to his performance on the pommel horse, which delivered a top score of 15.150, while his floor routine contributed 14.8.
Teammate Nile Wilson also put in some impressive displays on the high bar and the floor, although his score of 14.150 from the judges for the latter did raise some eyebrows.
Eventually England finished the day on 258 points, some 10 points clear of second-placed Canada, while Scotland improved upon their performance in Glasgow four years ago to take bronze.
Wilson and teammate James Hall also qualified for the all-around final, with Dominick Cunningham unable to progress despite finishing third due to a limit on the number of competitors per country.
Whitlock was ineligible to feature in the all-around competition as he only participated in the final two apparatus of the day.
