Becky Downie targets uneven bars medal at World Championships

British gymnast Becky Downie reveals that she is aiming for a medal in the uneven bars final at the World Championships in China this week.

British gymnast Becky Downie has revealed that she is working towards earning a medal in the uneven bars final at the World Championships this week in Nanning, China.

The 22-year-old is hopeful that she can add to her medal tally after scooping two golds in the discipline at the European Championships in Bulgaria and at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games for England.

Downie also won a gold medal in the team event in Bulgaria, as well as a team silver in Scotland during the summer.

"I would love to win another bars medal," the Hucknell Dispatch quotes Downie as saying. "That is something I am aiming for. I think I've got a good chance, but I've got to upgrade my routine and work on the execution again."

Downie spent two weeks at a training camp at the National Sports Centre in Lilleshall, Shropshire prior to jetting off to China.
