Simone Biles wins fourth gold as Great Britain claim bronze

USA's Simone Biles wins her fourth gold medal of the Rio Olympics, while Great Britain's Amy Tinkler claims bronze.

USA's Simone Biles has won her fourth gold medal of the Rio Olympics, with Great Britain's Amy Tinkler claiming bronze.

Biles had seen her dream of winning an unprecedented five Olympic golds end on the beam yesterday as she was forced to settle for bronze, but success in the floor final this evening ensured that she still equalled the best ever individual gymnastics performance at a single Games.

Tinkler, the youngest member of Team GB at just 16 years old, had earlier set the mark to beat with a score of 14.933.

That proved to be enough for bronze as Italy's Vanessa Ferrari narrowly missed out with the final routine, making Tinkler just the second British woman to win an individual gymnastics medal, after Beth Tweddle.

Biles led the way with a score of 15.966, while compatriot and defending champion Aly Raisman won silver.
