Arsenal fans fail to show up for protest over club's lack of summer spending

Arsenal supporters fail to turn up to a planned deadline-day protest at the Emirates.

A number of Arsenal fans arranged for a protest to be staged outside of the Emirates on Tuesday night, but their fellow supporters failed to show up.

Some fans vented their anger on Twitter over Arsenal's failure to add to the arrival of goalkeeper Petr Cech during the summer transfer window.

Messages did the rounds on social media calling for supporters to meet outside Arsenal's stadium at 7pm to very their frustrations, but it was clear on Twitter that not many people were angry enough.

One fan tweeted a picture of the empty grounds around the Emirates and sarcastically added the caption: "Protest is going great."
