The Premier League fixture between Arsenal and Liverpool has reportedly been earmarked for Friday, December 22.
The initial proposal to play the game late in the afternoon on Christmas Eve has been criticised by stewards, fans and club staff alike.
Sky Sports has the rights to show two Premier League matches every Sunday, which lands on the day before Christmas this year.
Talks between the two clubs, Islington Council and the Metropolitan Police are still ongoing as they search for a date which satisfies all parties.
According to The Telegraph, it is now looking like Arsenal and Liverpool fans will have their wish as the game looks set to be played on the earliest date possible.
Other fixtures are being considered for a December 24 broadcast, including Manchester United's trip to Leicester City and Chelsea's game at Everton.
Sky Sports is expected to announce its televised festive fixtures by the end of the week.
