Former Bayern Munich president Uli Hoeness has been released from prison after serving half of a three-and-a-half-year sentence for tax evasion.
The 1974 West Germany World Cup winner was jailed in June 2014 after being convicted for evading taxes amounting to £22.5m.
Hoeness, who spent 30 years as Bayern's sporting director before becoming president in 2009, was initially charged with evading £2.75m in taxes, but admitted during trial that the sum was much larger.
According to Sky Sports News, in early 2015 Hoeness was allowed to work at the Bundesliga club's youth department during the day and then returned to prison in the evening.
Hoeness won three league titles and three European Cups during his eight-and-a-half-year spell at Bayern as a player.
