Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba has revealed the reasons behind his decision to launch an underwear and swimwear range.
It was confirmed earlier this week that the former Chelsea frontman's 16-piece collection, which has been produced by world-renowned brand HOM, will go on sale at the start of next month.
Speaking about the products, the 36-year-old has confirmed that some of the proceeds will go to his foundation to help those in the need of aid in his native Ivory Coast.
"By producing my own line of underwear I'm able to achieve two goals - to design a fashionable men's underwear range and to create a product that will directly support my charitable foundation - to aid in healthcare and education in the Ivory Coast," he said.
Meanwhile, HOM's managing director, Regine Weimar, added: "We are thrilled to be able to partner with Didier Drogba, to create not only an exceptionally creative product, but also create a product that will have a positive social impact. The collaboration will directly support the Didier Drogba Foundation and the important work they do in the region."
Drogba joins the likes of David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo in launching an underwear line.
