Everton midfielder Darron Gibson has been charged by police after being involved in an alleged hit-and-run that left a cyclist injured.
The 27-year-old is believed to have been driving under the influence of alcohol when his black Nissan Skyline GT-R Nismo hit a cyclist before colliding with a pump at a petrol station.
The incident occurred close to Gibson's home in Altrincham, Greater Manchester last Sunday.
Police have confirmed that Gibson has been charged with driving with excess alcohol, driving without due care and attention, as well as failing to stop after a road traffic collision, according to BBC News.
The Irish midfielder will appear at Trafford Magistrates' Court on September 1.
