Leeds United settle winding-up petition

Leeds United confirm that the winding-up petition served against the club has been dismissed.

Leeds United have announced that the winding-up petition that was recently served against the club has been dismissed.

The Championship outfit was notified of the petition last week in relation to an issue that involved the previous owners at Elland Road.

A hearing had been set for January 13 regarding unpaid fees of around £150,000 by ex-director Melvyn Levi and his business partner Robert Walton.

"The winding up petition presented by Melvyn Levi has today been dismissed on agreed terms," read a statement on the club's official website. "Mr Levi and Leeds United Football Club Limited are working towards resolving their remaining differences."

Leeds are currently in 15th place in the Championship table with just one win in their last nine games.
